Hey guys!

I'll be tracking the bass and the guitars for my Hands of Despair album in may, and I'd like to rent a great pre instead of using my profire 2626. I was thinking of the Millenia STT-1 for the bass, but for the guitars I have no ideas...(preferably something less expensive).

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

There may be a difference using a di box into better converters. I would avoid colouring your direct guitar sound if you're taking DIs for reamping.

The Chandler LTD-1 is easily my favorite mic pre for heavy guitars on that list - It's essentially a Neve 1073 and it sounds BURLY. The API 512/3124 is great too if you want more mids/presence and less beef.

I know that most of you can reach great and branded equipment. But for guys like me that live in third world countries it is so expensive to take that level of equipment, I can say that the cheap, and most of you hate just to look the brand name, Beringher MIC200 Pre mod is really great. You can buy a better valve to change the stock one. I'm using it before my Saffire Pro 24, and it gives a valvier and crispier tone that really improves the sound. So for low budget guys, I will take it into account to improve your sound.
