greatest production i have ever heard! where are these drum samples from??

Have no fear people, thread will be saved with actually good music that actually has REALLY GOOD production and way better sounding drums :

The quality of this is terrible, but I'm liking the stuff, cheers. Only heard older Gojira before.

If i'd live in the US and all I could hear/watch would be bands like this I bet you would see me on the news doing something nasty in my highschool as an act of frustration. I mean, all the bands look alike, sound alike, same patterns, same drumming, riffing, singing... What is happening to you my fellow American metalheads? I mean, what happened to the metal?

lies, this is the best drum sound ever

heeeeee

Ahh, you'd be right in line with Matt's (Splatt88) tastes. He's always going on about the production on White Pony. Have to say I've spun the record a few times, but find it impossible to gel with the band. Horses for courses eh, the great thing about this industry.

:)

all of the engineers i work with hate the deftones... which i can understand because most of these dudes are old-school.

it is very unique to me. (this is why i am drawn it).

I'm with you Tim, White Pony is one of my all-time favorite records, and Terry Date was probably the main reason I became an engineer.

it's crazy... because i grew up listening to quincy jones productions... as well as fagen/becker (steely dan). ...so i got used to the ultra/hyper pristine sound.

then (a million years later) the deftones came out and it just felt "right." ...they had their own sound that seemed familiar to the ultra produced pop productions i was used to in the past.

the deftones are probably the only reason i even gave "metal" or "aggressive" music a chance.

terry date ftw!

jesus fucking christ, that song is BAD.

thanks to everyone posting the other vids to actually rescue this thread...somewhat.

interestingly, i just read the call it quits thread ermz posted in the ot section right before checking this one, and i can totally understand his thread much better now.

which one? ...the OP song?

it's not terrible... just, "same-old-same-old."

i certainly don't understand why "greatest production i have ever heard!"

that is a bold suggestion.
