What are your thoughts on Green Carnation. Is the musicianship that good?

Didn't like "Light Of Day..." that much. But I only listened once or twice. Same thing happened with EoS's Crimson, and I liked it the next time I heard it.

I have LODDOD, its absolutely brilliant. I've heard one song from the other album, 'In The Realm Of The Midnight Sun', and I didnt think much of it to be honest.

LODDOD is great. A must have for any Opeth fan, in my opinion.

And about the opera part; it will sink in after a while.
It's just the 10 second scale part which is annoying.

It is an incredible album, and I am amazed how Tchort was able to actually make it ONE song, sharing many similarities throughout the whole thing. The only problem is that to enjoy it you really have to pay attention to it, and it is hard to devote an hour very often to listening to it. The opera part also bothers me...

Excellent album, Excellent band...It would be great to see them peform that whole"track" live! They would need an arena stage just to fit all of the musicians!

Yeah, the only thing that would discourage me from recommending this album is the fact that it is such a time-consuming listen...

It's a decent listen but as people have said kinda time consuming, the female vocals + sax in the middle is totally useless, it gets boring every now and then and the main vocalist isn't that good.
