Guess the guitar sound!

(new mix today)

During my endless search for unconventional ways to get a decent guitar sound I sometimes stumble upon methods that I've neverd heard of anyone else doing. This is my first attempt at one of those methods. The mix is only meant to show what the guitars sound like, and I'm very well aware of the lowmid "oofs" here and there. Not even the C4 could take care of those, but I know what I did wrong so I won't do it next time, ha ha. :)

I'm bleeding out of my ears right now, so maybe I shouldn't post this before giving it a second opinion tomorrow; but here we go anyway:

http://fredrikgroth.com/guess.mp3 <- new mix, old one is guess_old.mp3 (copy/paste if you wanna hear it)

And now, my friends... tell me what you think it is. And maybe even what you think of the sound.

something about the compression of the distortion leads me to think it is a REC but then again I am listening on some headphones....I am going to guess Guitar Rig...

EDIT....

after a second listen I am going to say there is no way it is a REC.......I am leaning towards an emulator.....Sounds like Guitar Rig to me...

It's not a Rectifier, neither with or without Tube Screamer. Not Guitar Suite. And not Guitar Rig. You all think way too conventional today. ;)

edit: the V-AMP is involved, but only as a DI-box /w SPDIF too my soundcard. The V-AMP itself does NOT emulate anything here, neither distortion, amp or cabinet.

I'm going to guess just because if I'm wrong I have the excuse that I have crappy headphones here at work (I keep mentioning that, eh?): TS + Dual Rectofier + some really crazy micing.

No, wait, I'm retracting this if it's not too late :D . That's a POD if I've ever heard one.

Edit: I'm fired

I think I'm right but you skipped my suggestion.:D
oops, I didn't see that you edited your post...

It's this little thingie:

UM100_medium.jpg

It's basically Behringers $30 copy of a BOSS Metal Zone, called UM100. I dialed in a distortion that I liked, lined it through my Bass V-AMP Pro /w everything turned off, and then I used an impulse response of a 4x12 cabinet miked /w two SM57. So basically it's analog distortion and digital cab emulation. :) I think I have to play more with EQ after the stomp box and before the cab impulse to get a better result. At least I'll try. :)
