Okay, so I was watching a certain Live DVD this morning (there's a hint) and later in the afternoon I was like "hey that riff was cool" so I just thought I'd work it out from memory. So although it's probably played wrong (and in the wrong tuning
pretty sure most songs from this band are tuned down a half step) It's quite a unique riff from this band, and my version sounds accurate enough to make it easy to work out if you've heard the song.

I think I know what it is, but I won't answer until I have my riff recorded.

Actually it was played almost exactly right, just tuned half a step up than it's supposed to. Not to mention it's a fucking unique riff, so even if someone did play it incorrectly, if you'd heard the song before you'd still be able to get it.
Just like if someone played the Master of Puppets riff in the wrong tuning you would still know it's Master of Puppets.

Yeah of course, and I'm not saying this to flame you at all, but bad sound + not-exactly-perfectly-played = hard to recognize.
