Guess who moved in over the weekend?

* she was a film major and is a total film snob. in fact she's even snobbier than me, and i think the only person i've met who's snobbier is named TOBY. she lent me The Third Man and The Bicycle Thief (she has a lot of good DVDs) and we went to the video store together, where she rented Kieslowski's Decalogue (I-III).

* she spent a year in the hospital when she was eight because of Chernobyl. she said her family found out about it from a relative in America who called and were like "Are you guys okay??" and they were like sure, why not? and he was like "Because a nuclear reactor just exploded right next to you?" and they were like "Wasn't it just some minor thing?" and the relative's like FLEE MINSK NOW! nice job, Soviets.

the decalogue is really good (and depressing)

I love that kind of stuff, but can rarely bring myself to watch it these days. guess I'm too happy or something.

What huh? Give me a break, anyone that knows me knows I like every movie I ever see, ever. Except for the Matrix 2 and "At First Sight".

which means she'd probably be a great salesman.
