Twisted Sister.

:ill:

*sings I'm not gonna to take it*

Oh well, not surprising seeing as Barlow left the squad. And I guess Hansi and Ripper were busy...

I wonder if they specifically wanted an American band to replace IE?

P.S. The running order at Wacken is now definitely complete (according to the WOA website).

I just noticed yesterday that they (Twisted Sister) are also playing the New Jersey State Fair... yikes. I read that and couldn't believe they were still playing live somewhere (albeit among the likes of Kansas and the Edgar Winter Band or something like that at the NJ state fair). Maybe this is the beginning of their big comeback! :D

I know you guys are NOT dissing the mighty Twisted fuckin Sister...

I own every damn cd and the tribute (which Cradle, Overkill and Anthrax do killer covers on..)

Dee Snider has been keeping hard shit alive on the radio waves for years...

I've read that they plan to do select shows like that and not planning on touring or coming back...

We'll see..

"We've got the right to chose it, there ain't no way we'll lose it,
This is our life, this is our song."

:Spin:

Yeah whatever man. Tell me I aint going all the way to Deutschland to see Twisted F'ing Sister headline a show (after playing the NJ state fair that families go with their grandmas to play scrabble and picnic).

Of all the bands available (that don't play the US too often), they chose a hair glam band?!! I wonder how that makes Jon Schaffer feel - to know the next best thing to IE is Twisted Sister?

OK so vote then - if you had the choice to see TS or IE, which would you pick?

Most definitely Twisted Sister as I know they fucking kick ass live from seeing them on MTV Saturday Night Concert Series back in the day.

I saw IE on the Something Wicked.. Tour.

OVER FUCKING RATED.

Destiny's End and Nevermore crushed them that night.

Literally.

T.S.
The Kids Are Back

I'm with Papa J here ;) Twisted Mother Fuckin' Sister over Iced Earth any day, and ManOwAR over TS simply because there can be no other way. I don't think getting Twisted Sister at Wacken is bad - they fucking rock! I'd love to see 'em! :D

Joey Tempest did an interview with Powerplay recently where they addressed that...but I didn't buy that copy >_< ask around a bit, see what he said...

I think they ended it a bit early to be honest. Kee Marcello was such a storming guitar player. Apparently he has a new album out (a couple of months old) but I can't find it anywhere...

That's the thing: Twisted Sister = one hit wonder.

If we're going back to the 80's hair period, I'd prefer to see a Europe reunion.

Ali man, not even close! Twisted Sister has 3 good ALBUMS of material, and I'm actually looking forward to them. Too many people scoff at them because of their costume/theatrics/makeup gimmick, but beneath it all they were a rocking metal band. While I won't say I'd prefer to see them over Iced Earth, they're by no means a shit replacement. They've been asked to headline major Euro festivals all over, so this is no surprise...

And Europe? Sheesh, now THAT'S a one-hit wonder band!

remember a few years ago there was a reissue of "The Final Countdown," and the packaging people left the first "o" out of the redone coverart?

That must be an urban myth.

It reminds me of the Curb Your Enthusiasm episode the other night where they wrote an obituary for an Aunt, and the paper replaced the A with a C.

By the way, everyone thinks of Final Countdown when they think of Europe....that was their path to Bon Jovi ville. Their early stuff was proper traditional metal. John Norum is an amazing axe man I tell ya!

I guess after The Final Cuntdown, Europe ended up like Bon Jovi, funnily enough - victims of their own success. You got a hit so big you can't ever top it, y'know! Though I weren't around then so I dunno if it were seen different at the time :p
