Guilty Pleasures (Metal Version)

Old Nightwish
Europe's first album (not final countdown which kind of sucks imo)
some disturbed songs are decent

By guilty pleasures it means stuff you listen to that is often looked down upon in the metal community.

I like:
Early Children of Bodom
Early Cradle of Filth
Cannibal Corpse

God, Children of Bodom and Cradle of Filth are fucking terrible. I admit I used to like Cannibal Corpse but now I think they are mediocre even though they are quite technically able.

Here are some bands I have always liked that are rather looked down upon in metal:

Slipknot
System of A Down
Lamb of God
Pantera
Biohazard (well, maybe just ignored)
Candiria

*addition - I do not feel guilty for liking any of these bands.

Oh yeah I like them. Hell I suppose I better put Skid Row and TNT in there if I'm putting Dokken in. I really like those bands though so stfu if you think I should be guilty.

Dokken.

I'm not ashamed though, because Dokken are ace. Fo' real.

Mr. Scary is a sick fucking song but other than that not my cup of tea. Don't see why you should feel guilty for liking them though.

I like listen to COB(older production), Nile and My Dying Bride... -it´s just somehow quite interesting..lyrics,the violin and that slow rhythm.. Fucking great!Even, I think the latest album "The lies I sire" isn´t so good. I like the bawl and on that album there´s not that so much.. But yeah..there are plenty of much better bands..-and hey, how many of you guys have heard the French metal band Gojira? (example the song
"To Sirius") What do you think about that?

Since when were Pantera looked down upon in the metal community? Cowboys From Hell is absolutely essential.

I'm not guilty about it but I like some deathcore bands indluding:

Oceano
Despised Icon
Glass Casket
Animosity (older stuff)

dude, the new animosity slays dude. you gotta hear animal. no joke. chad told me to get it, and it blew me away. those kids were always impressive, but they keep getting better

or are you just saying the new stuff isnt a guilty pleasure.

They are looked down upon death/thrash/black metal fans. Not that I give a fuck about that. They did rip off Exhorder on Cowboys From Hell, but that's a weak album anyway.

because pantera is the band that started nu metal. in a sense, pantera (along with anthrax) did there best to destroy all we hold sacred...

oh, and they suck and dime is over rated and has shitty guitar tone

The reason to be a metalhead and what metal often stands for is "thinking for yourself" and most metalheads are so fucking narrow minded and two-faced about this. Who gives a fuck about what others are listening to? Raise individuals with a mind of their own, not narrow minded pricks.

The funny thing is, all about this "parody" video is true.

I don't feel guilty for liking these but...

Later Megadeth & Metallica
Devildriver
Trivium - Ascendancy
Anthrax
Machine Head (The Blackening & Burn My Eyes)
Papa Roach - Infest (probably hard rock)
Rob Zombie
Deftones
Drowning Pool - Sinner
Rammstein
Orgy

You mean groove metal? Exhorder honestly laid the groundwork for groove metal. Not to mention they're much better than Pantera.
