whats the best way to learn how to play guitar and sing at the same time...ive been singing and playing guitar separately for 9 years and now i try to put em together and nothin works

Honestly I think its a talent you either have or don't have, like patting your head while rubbing your belly....

For me the trick was to pick a song that was easy to sing and play and get the guitar and singing parts down to where I could do them in my sleep then put them together. Then over time I learned more difficult songs. But I still can't do anything that's overly complex on the guitar and sing at the same time.
