Guitar Pro Timing Issues

Hey the band I'm currently recording tabbed all of their songs out into guitar pro, exported the files and sent then to me in mp3, along with all the tempos and time signatures. The problem is that the file doesn't start at the beginning and i cannot seem to get it aligned with the grid. Does anyone have any idea about how to fix this? We were going to use them as scratch tracks but I'm thinking it might be easier to just record some. Thanks.

ask for the midi files and import that

+1 I always use midi from GP for my bands songs.

However, the tracks always seem to be one 32nd late if I don't have them running through a soft synth.

Also, shouldn't you just be able to tab to trans or something then split and snap.
