I'm trying to learn some more about guitar post processing and i'm curious how a compressor and limiter differ? I understand what they both do but i can't seem to understand why a limiter would be use on a guitar tone for post processing. I ask because i'm scared to much compression is killing my guitar tracks and making them lifeless. Can some one give me a really short explanation on using a limiter vs compressor on a guitar tone and the pro's and con's of each? I've searched around but i can't seem to find much that is really that detailed for a n00b like me haha
