I didn't want to participate even tho it was "my" competition, but I would still want some comments. If others like Jevil and Nuno Filipe who made the track but didn't make it to the competition and want comments too, feel free to post them on this thread.

I used this to demo the track a few months back with this and now I think I maybe should've participated.

Yep, would have made very good entries for sure. ahjteam, your own mix is very good. Also nice guitar tone, especially considering it's all ampsims. I wouldn't pick them out as "lifeless" ampsim tones because they don't get dulled out in the mix at all. Still I think a real amp would give nicer, less "flat" midtones (and punchier, to me really benefitting a song like in the competition). Since you solved your own "real amp tone" (which was a total win hehe, I read about it but was mostly reading the forum only), you could have done it with real tubes. Then again, this mix would sure be one I could vote for, having voted and thus listened to all entries this morning. As for Nuno Filipe, I played it less loud to simulate having nothing on the master buss, it sounds good too. Nice rhythm sound, nice leads, but the bass is a little loud/overpowering to my taste. Still a good mix for the competition, too bad for "cheating" on the master bus. :loco: Maybe a "mastering only" competition would be alot of fun and very educative as well? :)
