Hi fellow guitar players,

I wondered whether one of you might have the answer I'm looking for. My main axe at the moment is an ESP Horizon FR that has been mounted with Seymour Duncan Black Winter pickup by it's previous owner. Being really (and solely) into metal at the time of the buy, I was extremely satisfied.
However, my tastes have changed quite a lot recently and I find myself in need to use a whole lot more the volume knob.
The problem is, the volume knob does this weird thing where it doesn't increase/decrease gradually. It'll be either off or full on. Like if the last 3/4 of the turn do nothing to the volume.

Would anyone know where this problem can come from and how to fix it?

Thanks in advance.

Hello.
Is the pot scratchy?

It could be a quick turn pot - that's just the way it is made.

Try this -
First spray the internals of the pot with contact cleaner.

Move the knob back & forth 10 times.

Plug In & Test the pot again.

If it is still weird - replace the volume pot.

Cheers.

I'll try that Natas Lived and see how it works.
dthmtl3, I'd expect an ESP Horizon to have good pots... Kinda disappointed if that's just a case of bad quality one.
