heres a quick little solo i did over a manouch style riff i wrote last year. havent recorded in a while so its a bit messy..

im a big jazz fusion / death metal player mostly but occasionaly the gypsy jazz creeps up .. damn you django.

anyway let me know what you guys think..

rythm is kinda drowning out the solo, I liked it but I think the rythm was lacking that swing, it was jsut kinda straightforward

Hahahaha, I like it. It's too bad with alot of solos like that it can start to sound like you have no idea what you're doing. But I probably wont delete it.

it is a very shitty recording yes.. and yea it was the first jazz tune i ever wrote a while back i still think it sounds a bit funky hehe.. in what way do you feel it lacks the swing feel? and how do you find it to be so "straight forward" i mean most gypsy jazz rythyms are kinda straight forward (traditional stuff)...

I dont really think it lacked the swing feel, it just wasnt very tight. Still, not bad.
