Anybody wanna say something about the normal flu, that only in Italy kills 9000 peoples every year? But nobody say nothing about this
Do vaccines not just strengthen the immune system? I'm not trying to be a dick, I mean really, how does a vaccine weaken the immune system?
I see a lot of people against these vaccines, but I never really see some good solid reasons to avoid them. I'd be open to some, though.
Otherwise, I was thinking of getting both the seasonal and h1n1 shots sometime soon. A few of my friends have had the flu recently and I'd rather avoid it.
Here's the 60mins take on the virus.

edit:
I read, on an anti-vaccine website actually, that the seasonal flu deaths are overinflated because they count pneumonia bacterial infections. Usually the virus weakens the respiratory system and pneumonia comes in after. I guess the site was suggesting that most of the pneumonia deaths weren't from getting the flu first. idk...

It's because of the way influenza works. With flu shots going out so readily in the past years, the virus keeps changing. Every year that we have a flu vaccine, the virus 'changes', and a new 'type' of influenza emerges. So the vaccine we all got 2 years ago would do nothing to the influenza running around now. So the virus is always going to get stronger, yet since we keep feeding ourselves with the vaccines to fight it, our body won't naturally strengthen itself to ward off these viruses. So the problem lies in the fact that one day the influenza will be so powerful, that if we don't have a vaccine, added on to the fact that our immune systems haven't evolved themselves due to so many vaccines, eventually the standard influenza can become a killer on an epic scale.
And this goes for all types of viruses, not just the influenza or H1N1....
funny thing is, the further you go into science and history the more plausible the idea of a 'god' becomes.
Even if you have a really strong immune system, won't the virus affect you anyways because it has changed?
Not sure about history, but with science that's a bit of a 'no' - this isn't even a religion thread anyway.
There are plenty of other diseases to help train our immune system - and since vaccines *train the immune system*, I fail to see how the technology that has already killed off several seriously debilitating diseases needs to be criticized.
