As a drummer myself I haven't noticed Fenriz play anything out of the ordinary. All of the stuff I've heard him play had normal black metal drumming that I could play myself and wouldn't have had any problems thinking of myself.

Fenriz knows when to stay in the background. You should listen to Soulside Journey to hear him play more technically challenging stuff.

Goatlord has some really cool drumming from Fenriz too. Having heard a number of darktrhone songs, I picked this up, and was totally unprepared for the music! Mych more technical and deathy than the TH stuff I heard from them. Quite tasteful.

Yeah, and Grim (Erik) had a very cool style. It really gave Borknagar the feel that they had. They kinda lost it when Asgeir came onboard, since he's so goddamn good that he opts for more technial stuff a lot of times. Grim had that special feel that suited Borknagar so well, I love his rhythmic triplet feeling blasts....

I think Asgeir is much better suited to new Vintersorg than Borknagar.......
