As I stated in my post, I wish Ozzy would move next to him and de-convert him. Most of his views I disagree with, but you could write a page six miles long and it won't change my mind about his intellect. I don't even care for the guy personally, I just respect his intellect tremendously. He is absolutely brilliant, even if he is tainted by his extremely conservative Christian beliefs. I didn't cast my vote for him for things like you stated, but I wish that someone as sharp as he without the religious baggage would emerge from the depths of politics.

While I'm obviously not putting them on the same scale in terms of sheer hate, Adolf Hitler was another very intelligent man with extreme views.
I find it hard to use the term "brilliant man" in conjunction with someone who's more apt to be in a senior role during the Spanish Inquisition than a Presidential candidate.

There's a huge difference between patriotism and nationalism. What our country is going through right now is a huge surge of nationalism; people walk around with blinders on because they feel that America is right, no matter what. This is not patriotism.

To be a patriot is to love one's country, not everything that country does without question.
