I think the question was "which bands came close to making it" not, "list everyone you can think of" Out of that list, Grim Reaper, Witchfinder General and Tokyo Blade probably came closest to any form of worldwide notice. Wasn't Driveshaft the guy from Lost's band?

Yeah they were being re-released in Japan apparently. I saw a link to a store that had them a while back, but couldn't be bothered figuring it all out. Awesome band.
