What's the toughest Nevermore riff to play? Rhythm of course, not solos. Seems like every one of their tracks has at least one riff that's a ballbreaker and just takes way too long to really get, and then you still can't play it nearly as well as Loomis.

Right?

PS fkn luv em

I only have Dead Heart and TGE, but I can't really think of any overly challenging "riffs" on those albums - however, any of the "lead melodies" such as the one under the chorus of "Born" are another story :worship:

Playing PoE the whole way through is an excellent stamina builder... getting the 'feel' on This Godless Endeavor is really hard, even if parts of it are simple when written out... Enemies of Reality always gives me hell, though, so riff = random.choice("Enemies of Reality").

^ This, for sure.

Yeah, Politics of Ecstasy is their thrashiest album. Many cool riffs worth figuring out. In fact, that is what I have been tabbing lately :)

Diminished riff in The Learning is coo'. Also, a lot of the stuff on Enemies of Reality cd is a return to the faster thrashy stuff.

Born is without a doubt the hardest song of theirs I've attempted. To get some of those parts up to speed and CLEAN as well is something else.

Ambivalent for some reason is giving me grief, likely since I'm desperately out of practice, but also because there's such an onus on tightness and muting then suddenly unmuting to voice the riffs correctly.

I ordered the Young Guitar Magazine with Jeff Loomis off of eBay and the chorus to "Born" the way Loomis transcribed actually isn't too hard once you get the feel of it. I would have to say that "Enemies of Reality" or "Politics of Ecstasy" takes the cake. Looking forward to the new album \m/

BTW check out this interview if you haven't heard it yet.

Well....I haven't attempted to play that many nevermore songs to save myself of embarrassment... two that I like playing along and are really tricky are poison god machine and death of passion from the dreaming neon black album which I don't see it mentioned here...I guess it's a little too "light" for you guys compared to their other albums.

Keregioz, are you left handed on the guitar or something? Your avatar fucking throws me off like crazy every time I see it! lol
