Has anyone here been on the PHILOSOPHER forum?

I was checking out some of the other forums on Ultimate Metal Forum and I came across (not literally) a forum called "The Philosopher". I check it out and responded to some posts. When the moderator saw that I did not agree with what everyone else was saying, he threatens to close the post. Then, he tells me to go to the Billy Milano post because I would be welcome there. WTF? I thought the purpose of these things was to have disagreements and express points? Those psuedo-intellects on the Philosopher don't seem to want it that way. It is all very self-absorbed over there anyway. They put these posts up trying to qualify their intelligence among this group of like minded sheep. It's a big friggin' dork-off. Check it out.

I cannot believe how they are over there. As soon as I disagreed with someone, they jumped on me, like a pack of ravenous dorks. Then, they point me to the Milano forum, like this is where the narrow minded are. What a bunch of pricks.

I can deal with them not wanting a debate and them sending me on my way. What really aggravates me is how narrow their thinking is. I mean, this is a bunch that fancies themselves as philosophers and great thinkers. But, when it comes right down to it, they see someone different and they shun them.

The political forum of www.mtbr.com is a wasteland of derelicts and social deviants. And the moment you talk sense, they come back at you and call you a xenophobe and a racist. You may have included the name of a black person in your post, which they home in on and call you a racist, even if you didn't say anything negative. It's great. One dude is a suicidal depressive, and his ex gf brought that to the forum when he personally attacked her and other people. This was fantastic. Want to make him shut the fuck up? Talk about his suicide attempts and the other skeletons he has in his closet, despite the personal attacks he makes towards you, whom he knows nothing about.

I highly recommend this board for guilty pleasure in making people meltdown.

Now, I don't agree. The condecending tone was a 2-way street. I do not disagree that any discussion regarding Machiavelli went down the crapper once it was decided I was to be singled out.

This is exactly what I am talking about. You were able to disagree with me, without any name-calling. I don't agree but, I respect your response nonetheless. Did I get reactionary at the end, yes. I absolutely was not trolling the thread. Had I been trolling, I surely would not have tried to be diplomatic at any point.

A whole bunch of things, I moderate in my spare time, a few hours a week, tops.

I understand Fah-q's gripes, but where does this whole thing leave us? Aside from some UM board hate, fucking nowhere is the answer.
