I have a Sony belt drive one. Works ok, but it seems many scream how direct drive is better. (and a lot more money.)

What broke the one you have?

I dunno, I got a new needle for it, and the record spins and everything, but no sound comes out. I figure it's something wrong with the wiring.

Couldn't say. What did the needles cost and where'd you get them? Mine is bent.
