Having fun with SD2 MIDI mapping, combining snares etc...

Thanks dudes :headbang:

Sounds pretty sick to me! Are you mixing the rest of the drums in SD2? Or are you bussing them out and processing them seperately? Also like the verb man. Is that room mics or an external reverb?

With blending snares I will try to get them coming through the same mic channels, so they are acting like one snare sample, and processing them as such. Otherwise you tend to get frequency separation in some areas and it becomes obvious that you are blending two snares.

The reverb is a lot of room mic, plus a plate snare (gated and EQ'd)

I did something similar, this is the Black Beauty Snare from Avatar (slightly tuned up) blended with that Low Pitched (dunno the full name) of Metal Foundry:

Thanks! Glad you like it.

The kick is a mixture of the Metal Foundry Kick (the first Haake one), that Chris Adler Sacrament Sample from the sneap board here and the Despised Icon Kick.
Actually the Metal Foundry is kick is very small amount. The rest is Sacrament Kick for that thump and the Despised Icon the the clicky thing.

The kick is Slate kick 10z3, tuned up, mids sucked out, high pass at 50hz. But the Sonor kick from TMF is in the OH and room mics. They blend really well.

How did you blend in a Slate kick with Superior drummer?

^^^ Right. The way you actually do that is to set the output of your kick drum mics in superior to a different output, maybe 3-4 or something. Make an aux track in your DAW and set it's input to superior's 3-4 output, and the kick will show up on that aux track. Then just throw trigger on it and you have a replaced kick!
