HC dvd?

What do you expect from such a small, fledging festival? An MTV produced documentary packed with 20 bonus features? Shit, they lost money on the festival last year.

There is 1 song from all the bands until Novembers Doom and The Chasm (which get 2 apiece), and then 4 songs apiece from Thyrfing, Primordial and Moonsorrow. That's 20 total songs from the festival, and basically 2 full albums worth of live songs. It was released as 2 DVD's based on a technical issue and nothing more (Ali and I spoke with the gentleman that produced the DVD at HC II).

The camera work is fantastic and many of the songs sound better than I would've expected. I think it's a very worthwhile DVD and we're lucky to even have one out there.

To be fair, by today's standards, the DVD from a camera and sound perspective are below average. That said, it's a fantastic deal. As Dark One pointed out, there's a ton of music here, in a once in a lifetime setting. A 16 camera shoot, with polished sound wouldn't have captured the vibe of the show. For what they're charging, buying the DVD is a complete no-brainer.
