Headphones

I think the worst headphones I've ever had, if only I could remember what the name of them were. They were of the over-the-ear variety, and weren't bad quality for $30, but the cord! It wasn't the usual black cord than hangs down freely, it was silver-ish and wire-like itself, and stiff but flexible in the sense that they could be bent and could hold that position (I don't know what this style is called). The problem was, that they would get tangled very easily and bend into a position, the actual wire would break through the cord, and eventually the wire would break (in a few places). Also, out of pure genius, the main cord was incredibly short, though it came with an extension that was useless once the wire broke.

these headphones are much better than that gimmicky, overpriced pair you picked up.

lol...
I use a pair of headphones I found in the snow in the middle of a white out 2 years ago. They haven't failed me yet.

i use crappy radioshack headphones... but it's not worth investing my money into better ones since i never use them anyway.

I'm looking into getting some decent noise cancelling headphones- I fly long haul once a month with my job and figure that they'll come in useful. Obviously Bose are the standard, but I am aware there are other brands that are cheaper and/or better. I'd also want very good sound quality (considering the generally high price of the headphones) and ideally something sturdy- I have a habit of fucking headphones up on a regular basis. Anyone got any suggestions?

@topic: Meh, I just use the earbuds that came with my Ipod.

You can stand to listen to those things? They are worse than even the cheapest generic earbuds you can buy. Also they pretty much say "Please mug me, I'm carrying an iPod" (depending on where you live).

@Billenzimmer: whatever you do, don't get Bose.

Personally, I never use headphones. I have a damn good pair of Sony earphones that seem to have disappeared off the market, but the rest of the time I find music so much more satisfying to play out loud, as it were.
