What are your weapons of choice when it comes to mixing / mastering, editing, processing bass, and monitoring for drummers in the headphone department?

The new iPod headphones are cool but theyre not sound proof. I broke my beats a month ago. R.I.P.

Switching frequently between my Q701's and HE400's. The Hifiman's have the most amazing bass on any headphone I've experienced and are almost perfect for checking the low end on tracks, but they have a rather weird top end that makes them rather limited to that role. AMAZING listening cans though, just a shame they don't have the godlike transient detail on the AKG's.

For accuracy, you CANNOT go wrong with AKG 702's.

I've tried many, and the only set that comes close to the accuracy of the 702's is the Sennheiser HD600.

I've converted many headphone-haters into headphone lovers with these.

The 702's are also inexpensive and very comfortable to boot.

Also, the removable cable is a god damn saint.

I know it's kind of ridiculous that these are backed by Simon Cowell, but I tried these earlier today (my friend just got a pair) and I thought they sounded pretty great. They seemed VERY accurate to me. I've never used any of the Shure's or AKG's you guys are talking about though so I'm no expert. The transient response was great and they didn't seem scooped and hyped in the low end like Beats.

Beats by dre, got them for my birthday at the same time as my macbook pro and logic, plus i'm too poor to afford monitors.

They're all i've ever had to mix on, and seem to do the job well enough for practice and referencing.

Sennheiser HD650.

Not for tracking with drummers, obviously, but I really doubt that there are headphones that are good in all departartments.

sorry for thread hijacking but what would you recommend in case you are only limited to AKG? I have store credit where they only sell AKG headphones. Are the K601 the best cans they got for mixing?
