AND EXODUS ALSO. I THINK THEY ARE HEAVY?

Bonded by Blood = E
Pleasures of the Flesh = 1/4 step up from Eb
Fabulous Disaster = Eb
Impact Is Imminent = Eb (not 100% on this)
Force Of Habit = D (again not 100% on this)
Tempo Of The Damned = D (some songs in Drop C)
Shovel Headed Kill Machine = D (some songs in Drop C)
The Atrocity Exhibition Exhibit A = D (some songs in Drop C)
Let There be Blood = D

So as far as I can tell you're only right with the first Exodus album, as far as standard tuning goes :p. This is just what I can remember from playing along with some of their stuff, anyone feel free to correct me.

Watching the Skies is with drop-C#. Misled and Dark Waters are in D.

Yeah, I saw that mentioned and forgot to say that there's a few songs that aren't in standard. The songs that are in standard on that album are still heavy as fuck though, same as Blinded off of Recreation Day.

Early Metallica records have some weird tunings, Kill em All is tuned very sharp, almost like to F if I remember correctly, fucking annoying when you want to jam with the cd :D

If I remember right, Lightning is similar, I think if you tune up 1/4 step from E you'll be about right to play along (can't quite remember, it's been years since I jammed to any Metallica). Also saying the early Metallica records are all Standard E is wrong, as The Thing That Should Not Be was in Drop D.

erm, they're all tuned to E. it's tape warp/playback speed/etc that causes this. Peace Sells is the same way, it sounds 1/4 note up or something but it's from the tape warp etc.

Pantera in a lot of their records, Rammstein also has a massive tone and they tune to standard E or drop D. Opeth indeed is the best example.

I think the early Metallica records (esp AJFA and MoP) are quality examples of being heavy as shit in standard tuning. Or tuning to drop D, and being heavier than a fucking tyrannosaurus-having-eaten-a-ton-of-bricks shit. (The Thing That Should Not Be)
