Went to LA this afternoon to jam with some singer/songwriter chick whose music I don't really care for but she had some shows lined up. That went... okay at best because the music is ehhhh, and the drummer was GAAAAHHHH!!! But halfway through the owner of the rehearsal space approached me and said "you're good, and I'm looking for a bassist, let me give you a CD." Well before leaving the band in question showed up and I jammed with them. All I have to say is they were FUCKING AMAZING and for some strange reason thought I was too. Ended up going to a radio-interview thing with them tonight, taking group photos, and the first gig is in a week. They have a huge studio, are incredible musicians, and are all around very cool people.

This is me right now: :)

cuban? wtf? i thought you were racist
hahaha no, I just play one on TV. :loco:

I'll post some mp3s later, these dudes are fucking killer. The guitarist/singer grew up in Cuba and graduated from a music conservatory in Havana before fleeing the country due to being in trouble with the po-lice for protesting against Castro. Then he started listening to 90's alt/rock, and that influence is apparent in the music. It really is mostly Afro-Cuban jazz type stuff, just with a rock feel. Something ummm, incredibly different than I ever thought I'd be involved with it. Hey, whatever. :dopey:
