Ok, so I'm trying to do a few different tone tests in context of drums and bass and for some reason I keep hearing these pops. I haven't done any post EQ'ing at all, so I don't know if it's super low or high frequencies that just need to be cut or what. They seem to be random at different spots to me.

Mind taking a listen and suggesting some remedies? Thanks!

Yup... just listened to them on my ipod and my mac and everything was just fine. It was my dell laptop that seems to be a piece of shit and can't even play a fucking mp3 without pooping out. thanks guys.

While I'm thinking about it... what would you guys say is your favorite tone out of these 5? Keep in mind there is no post EQ going on, so I'm sure if I do a high and lowpass and cut some frequencies it could sound better. I'm feeling partial to #1 and #5 personally. Any suggestions to clean these up would be nice. I'm judging the tone on my ath-m50s cans, so I know there's some frequences and harshness I'm probably not hearing.

wow, you don't hear that any more?

on tone test one, in the last 5 seconds or so, there are huge loud pops! i don't know how they're getting into the mix, unless you're using pro tools?

i agree you should increase your buffer size anyways.

thanks,

thanks,

I was hearing the pops like crazy on my PC dell laptop due to just using the cheapass onboard sigmatel audio soundcard.

I re-checked on my mac and ipod and it sounds fine. I'm assuming there are some crazy frequency things going on in the upper and lower registers that's causing cheap soundcards to freak out and "pop". And no, I'm using Reaper.

I'm going to try doing some post EQ this evening when I get home and seeing if that is the issue; which is something I need to do anyways to shape and clean up the tone a bit to make it a bit more defined. I think that will help me determine which tone I like best too.

Thanks for the feedback.
