Help me design a pre-amp!

So recently (in the wake of amp simps) I thought it would be cool to start designing some high gain pre-amp. I started experimenting with various combinations and after a while I finally started getting decent results. The pre-amp design has the following constraints:

- 100% solid-state design (but with "tubey" sound we all love in mind)
- Pre-amp shall be battery operated
- Don't go after any specific amp sound replication - just do what sounds right

I also have the following things in mind:

- Built-in cab-sim would be a nice-to-have
- This could turn into full blown amp with power-amp section in the future
- The design schematics will be published to you for free but I reserve right to somehow monetize the device :Spin:

Now for what I have so far, a quick re-amp from DI+BT I have found some long time ago on another forum (I can't remember which one now - if you know the author please let me know I will add proper credit here):

Unfortunately I don't own recent cool cab IR stuff (like Recabinet) yet so results may vary, here's what I propose:

- I can re-amp for you (you send me DI, I send you pre-amp output to which you can apply your favorite impulse response
- You provide me with some feedback so I can improve the design and get THE tone

Note that there is no tone stack in my design yet. This means you have to apply EQ (before cab Impulse Response in your chain) on stuff I provide to you. It would be good if you send me information on which EQ settings work best for you (most important information for me is low-freq shelving, mid cut and high freq shelving frequencies - see http://www.duncanamps.com/tsc/ for some idea how this should work/look like). For example - in the example I linked only high shelf of ~3dB at ~8 kHz was applied. Best EQ setting will be applied as tone stack (with low - mid - high controls) in my design.

If you want to see how this looks like currently on my desk:

What's included right now:
- TubeScreamer clone (with Drive set to minimum, Tone set to max, Level set to max) which you can see on the bottom of the board
- The initial pre-amp section (which I won't disclose yet ;) )

I think such collaborative design will be fun, I am eager to hear how this will sound like in a decent mix - let the games begin ;)
