I am just recently getting into Anathema, what album would you suggest buying. Whats their "Black Album" so to speak?

Try Judgement for a start. It should be a good1...
Released on Music For Nations.

I'd say Alternative4 even though it is underated by many.........
I don't want to comfuse you but none of Anathema's albums has ever dissapointed me......

It depends really....but either Judgement, Eternity or Alternative4....any of them really

Start with 'Judgement' and work your way backwards... that's how I did it...

...jesh, maybe Judgement is the most 'easy listening' go for IT first. A4, is still the best album.

nope, "Silent Enigma" is their best one imo

Silent Enigma started me on Anathema, its an unique album... since most doom bands start wih a Serenades style and from Eternity on Pink Floyd had already done that.

The Silent Enigma is great because its right in the middle of their desenvolvement.
