I can understand why Dead Winter likes to type long posts (aren't you also an English major?). I tend to read all his post, except for the ones where he bitches back and forth with Lynn, but I do agree he could be more concise. I think I'm so long-winded because I have to teach English to baby-level students sometimes, and that entails breaking everything down into chewable, bite-size forms so they can understand.
I'm sure when I want to explain something, even to native English speakers, that habit has bled over into my non-work habits.
