I think you're talking about Bellhorn (?). He led the league in strikeouts this year. Sox-fanatics Fred and Steve are constantly screaming things at/about Bellhorn. I think they've just come to accept that he will strike out nearly every time he bats, so now everytime he steps up to the plate I just hear a half-sighed, half-mumbled "fucking Bellhorn...." I tend to feel sorry for him too.

i felt really sorry for that dude who always bats before manny ramirez, because he keeps being up at a crucial juncture and then striking out and looking like he's trying really hard not to cry as he walks away.

and then manny or that ortiz guy come up and win the game.

I'm not either - I haven't memorized the batting rotation like some other people I know. I do know that Bellhorn strikes out like it's his job, though.
