Recently I've found myself listening to alot of Type O Negative.
Several years ago this was one of my favorite groups.
I always liked their rock, goth, erotic, vulgar sound.
They may not be the greatest musicians, but I thought they were masters of their genre.
Recent releases have been disappointing, which caused my lack of interest, but their 1st few releases ending with October Rust were very good.
Origin of the Feces was sort of a mockery, but still had a couple interesting bits.
They're supposedly working on another album, but I'm expecting it will be lackluster again.
They seem to lack the passion of their earlier yrs as so many bands do.
I remember seeing them following the release of OR & they were super.
Lots of energy & all the smooth backing vocals were performed.
I last saw them wth COF a few yrs back.
Peter was checking his watch constantly, no backing vocals, completely uninspired IMO.
To me they'll always remain one of my most liked bands due to their earlier releases & a couple great live performances.
I'm curious if any other OpethFans find them interesting ???

I like them too but my favorite would be 'World Coming Down'... This album never fails to impress me!

oh, and 'Love You To Death' remains my all-time favourite love song (although the lyrics are kinda pervert  ), especially backed by the video

I like them and totally disagree with their latest album being lacklustre. It sounds like the perfect blend of Bloody Kisses and October Rust to me.

Love these guys. I really like all their albums and can't wait for the new one.

Has anyone seen the new DVD they've put out?

the opinions I've heard were not too positive but I haven't seen it myself yet...

cant say i agree with you on their latest releases...yes, OR is a classic but i think you should give "life is killing me" a few more spins. there is not a single track on there that i skip. some do stand out a bit more than others, thats true (like "anesthesia" or "a dish better served coldly") but it's an album that grows on you over time. hear hear!

i just cant wait for their new album...this band combines humor, grief, aggression and gothic romance like no other band. one of a kind!

damn, i literally had fallen off my chair laughing when i had watched their first dvd. hilarious! what does the new one have?

The show is pretty cool. It's taken from the WCD era so no tracks off LIKM. The backstage stuff is hilarious, but other people think it's not that funny. The only thing I wish they would've done different would to put the backstage stuff seperate from the show.

There's a bonus feature with them doing an interview with the chick that used to be on Fuse that's pretty entertaining.

I've only heard "Bloody Kisses" and "October Rust" and both are great albums. Huge difference between the 2 but if i'm not mistaken they were released one after the other am I right?
And they are good musicians. Pete has a very interesting style at bassplaying.
