well, i don't really know if there
rules to become one. i'm the mod here because of two reasons: i've known niklas through mails and chat since 1996, number one, and he asked me to be another mod here, number two. the latter reason can be explained by the fact that i'm almost always on the board, he trusts me to act accordingly to the band's wishes when it comes to organizing the forum, and at times it's better if bandmembers don't expose themselves directly, in order to separate their lives from public places where the band is discussed.
but on to the matter at hand: i think that you should contact those who are
paying for the cob board. mark will likely help you getting their address or something. if you don't know them yet, you could try explaining the reasons why you moderation would do good to the board: perhaps if you convince them, they're gonna find you trustworthy and make you a mod. of course the more they know about you, the better, and if they've seen you around posting a lot, that's also a plus.
i don't know a thing about the people in charge of the cob board, never met 'em on um or elsewhere as far as i recall, so i'm afraid i can't really help you directly with this at the moment, but if you find out that there is anything i can do, i'll likely will.
just one more thing: maybe next time you want to discuss this just send me a pm... i'm sure the less material is provided to instigators to fuel their rants, the more everybody's happy.
