One day I think I'll write a graduate thesis on how much I hate the over-quotation of the dinner scene in the Satyricon in classical scholarship, and also how much I think the character of Trimalchio to be a jackass.

WELL, since I just read this now and plan to go to bed, it's unlikely I will be on this evening.

How can you read anything Trimalchio ever said/did and not laugh? He is a walking parody, funny in every way. The parallels he has with many modern characters adds to how goddamn awesome he is.
