Hot Fuzz made my face hurt

i agree with deathstrike that the last 30 minutes of the film is the best shootout sequence ever. overall, the beginning is sort of slow, but still really funny. it was worth the build up. its one of the funniest movies i've seen in a longggggg time. to whoever hasn't seen it, go see it. and if its out on dvd by june 11th i'd be fine with that because i plan on buying it as soon as it comes out.

Grindhouse performed so badly in the US, that they dropped the UK release from the scheduled June 1st slot. If they release it in theatres at all, it's gonna probably be the Tarantino part alone, and sometime in September.

this statement doesn't make any sense. afaik, grindhouse was quite succesful especially for an R rated horror cheese flik.

also the Tarantino part sucked major ass compared to Planet Terror. And from the beginnign they had planned on releasing both movies seperately in Europe. As there were never any grindhouses there ever anyway.

It makes plenty of sense. Grindhouse did perform badly in the US (read the Wiki, it details the how it did: Link.)

Also, after some debate the film was to be shown in the proper format, as the distributor believed us Europeans smart enough to understand the concept of "Grindhouse" cinema. The June 1st date was to feature the film as it was shown in the US. However, after the poor US performance, it's been dropped form that date and half-shelved pending an arrangement on how it will be shown.

I'm pretty disappointed, to be honest. I was looking forward to seeing it in the cinema in its intended form.

that is so sad considering Planet Terror was FAR better than Death Proof

yeah exactly what I said. Death Proof is a failure of a movie..totally ruined by Tarantino's hard-on for pointless dialogue.

critics don't seem to like equilibrium too much 35% on rottentomatoes.com

?? i've never seen it. looks interesting at least.
