how can a full album be available online before the official release date?

Promo CD's are available months before an albums official release - and it takes that one person to decide to rip it to the internet and make it available. And once that's done - of course it's location is "leaked".

promo cds? well, if the labels are worried about piracy before the official date, they should not release these promos.
by the way before or after wouldn't make any difference...

ok, let me try to explain

what's happened here is what physicists would call a gap in the space-frame continuum. It sorta lets random parts of the future slip through the otherwise carefully knit net of now.

Of course it makes a difference, it's all tied in with the marketing of the album.
