i open the kontakt player (16 out) but...is there some way to have
every drum (kick , snare , hh...) in his own track in reaper (not in kontakt)?

I send everything to different tracks just because I prefer to do all my levels/panning with my DAW as if they are mic'd tracks instead of pissing around in the Kontakt player, plus this way you can add your external effects that aren't built into the player.

That's a good idea.

I've only used Slate once so far, but I didn't really even set levels in the Kontakt player. I just bounced the kick and snare separately, then did EQing and compression on the audio files

Are you using programmed beats?

When using the player yeah, pretty much the only way you can use it. A lot of the time I'll create a midi track from the transients on one drum and run the SSD player with just one drum loaded on that track for sample replacement as well, works way better than any triggering software.

How do you normally create a midi from the transients? Manually?

I used KTDrumTrigger. It's pretty good, but I had to do severe manual editing on fast rolls

Yeah usually tab to transient, split, tab to transient, split, etc. while visually making sure it's tabbing to the right part and moving the cursor with the mouse to where it should be if I have to. Then Reaper has an action to create chromatic midi from item splits so I use that, open the MIDI, select all, open note properties and set them all to the same note.

Either that or Drumtracker, which fucking RULES but I have not been able to figure out how to get it to import the MIDI properly back into Reaper when dealing with tempo changes... So I either have to erase all my tempo data for the song and import the midi at one tempo which blows because I lose a lot of editing functionality or I do it the manual way.

Same exact issue here. Drumtracker was cool, but I couldn't get the MIDI to follow my project tempo in Sonar. That's why I got KTDrumTrigger, which also has the benefit of being free.

Right click on the intrument in the FX Chain window -> Build multichannel routing for output of selected FX...

Done.
