how can NO ONE at my job care about this?

i mean, who the fuck doesnt know what this shit was about?> THIS GUY went to college, all he said was 'i don't watch the news' and i'm like WATERGATE? NIXON? RING A BELL?

my mom and stepdad don't remember who was president in 1981.

i'm not saying this as a joke: has anyone noticed or possibly getting really worried that there is something very, very wrong with the general mentality of a large number of people over the age of 50 or so?

people who were once fairly sharp/intelligent?

i've been keeping track of this for more than a few years. weighed the speculation with perspectives, etc

but there's no way you can 'forget' watergate or the timeframe of when carter/reagan happened

well, not really my parents are in their 50's and grew up in the... 50's.

but anyway, my opinion is that people 'give up' and stop caring at that age, assuming younger people will take care of things.,

hm i guess. but i dont think my dad was 'growing' up after already being in vietnam for 3 years and also having two kids, you know?

ive noticed this in australia, people ALWAYS forget everything.

i know plenty of people who dont know who nixon is, or even remember who our previous prime minister was. at the moment there is a huge trial going on in bali involving an australian woman who has been caught smuggling marujuana. when this all wraps up, ill give it a week before the public are like "schapelle who?"

sad times.

unfortunately a lot of the coverage in australia seems to be focused around "BUT SHE IS INNOCENT!!!" when i'm not sure that's true, and the real issue seems to be incredibly unjust laws, whether you're guilty or not.
