how do i make my own beats with ez drummer

i just got an entierly new recording rig (pro tools 10 and ez drummer)

and i was messing around with ez drummer and i do not see a way where it is possable to create my own drum beats...wtf???

can anyone help here? how do i make my own beats? that is the whole point to buying this.

You program them. Open up your DAW's MIDI editor, figure out the key mapping on the keyboard, and either program the notes by hand, keyboard play them, or get an e-kit and trigger EZdrummer through it.

thanks guys. i have been on pro tools 6 for the last 9 years so i have never been able to use these things until now and i dont know anything about midi.
