How do make cymbals sound notfake?

makes you sound like a smartass jerk who has somethig you don't and wants to rub it in.

this is true... i am indeed a jerk and somewhat of a smartass.

with an opinion.

whoops.

Have you tried location recordings? I've been doing that for like 5 years now. The bands always have a usable living room or something.

Nah I don't. I live too far from the bands that come and record with me. I'm living in a different area because of schools and my business attracts people from my hometown area. Between school and work, I don't have a lot of time to travel. Recording is more of a hobby right now. A hobby I'm thoroughly interested in, however.

This is Exactly my story too. Sadly :(

Also I always mess with levels, pans, verbs (whole group) comps (group) and eqs (group) with it all solod until I feel like it sounds real and meshes. A little verb goes a long way imo.

Also, big note: Sometimes a fill just isn't going to sound real no matter how you process it!!!! Midi up some different thing besides the same splash getting hit 12 times in two seconds. I still can't get 16th notes open hi hat to sound real at all (if anyone can offer me some insight here, please PM me or something)

Average peeps can never tell I program so i feel good :D
Peeps on this forum usually can but hey it's too be expected.. It is pretty much "in the box central" on the Internet now
