How do you guys know English so well??

Yup, my experience as well. The Germans tended to have the best English, while the Italians, by far, had the worst.

I wouldn't say by far the worst, the French are pretty terrible english speakers as well on the whole, part of that I think is a desire for cultural preservation of their language so they don't like speaking English even if they know some.

Most Germans do have great english skills, but I know a few Dutch people or Norwegians who excel at english to the point of being better than native speakers.

I lived in USA for 4 years as a kid, but it was like the 4 most important years to learn a language or something. I even think in english, and always prefer to write in english (I suck at lyrics in spanish), and all my computer stuff/mobile phone is in english, prefer it that way.

lol at malditos cristinos hahahahaha it's cristianos mejicano malhablado! jajajaja

Edit: I also want to congratulate all the multilingual dudes here, I feel I was simply lucky and is not a merit for me to be a "native" speaker in two languages, so I have decided to learn another language just cause I like languages. I am currently studying french on my own with a few books I bought, and in September I start classes of Galician (the official language of the region I live in, yes, Spain has 4 official languages)

BTW english grammary and dictionary is really really easy compared to what some of us have in our native tongues

Lyrics are easier in english than in spanish

Dam christins!

+1 on monkey island 1 & 2 and a whole bunch of other adventure games (one of the best way for kids to learn the language IMO). In addition to that, watching movies/series, reading books and the internet in general.

De que hablas? Yo no se nada de ingles.

Perdão, eu não falo Castelhano  Eu sou Finlandês.

Oh yeah, when I teach Finnish to my non-Finnish friends, half the time I have to silently think "WTF?!" when trying to explain most of our grammar  I guess Agricola was half-stoned and half-drunk when developing the language

I'm sure I don't speak english as good as you since video games and movies can't beat actually leaving in an english speaking country and interact with the people there, but I, too, find myself setting my computer/mobile etc in english.

una cerveza por favor :kickass:

My grammer and spelling skills are aweful, in english and in german. :goggly:
Also I had to talk to my GF in english for the first 2 years, because my italian wasn't very good, and she wasn't able to do geman as good as now, so there's were I got to talk english a lot to.
+ I had english courses for 12 years in total in school...

School, music, movies and games, learnt French for 3 years in school, but I hated it and
changed schools just because I didn't want to learn French any longer, after that I learned
Spanisch for 3 years, I am able to read it, write a few easy things and say "Hola" ;)
I am able to speak a little bit Danish and read it very well because we went there for holiday
since I was a year old and went there 15 times.

My parents used to live in NY by the late 80', I have tons of family in US and all my family speaks english mostly because my granfather was an important ambassador here on Chile, so learning english was really a natural thing for me.
