Actually, I'm almost positive that Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone and I believe that he is a Canadian.

Alexander Graham Bell was born in 1847 in Edinburgh, Scotland. He moved to Ontario, Canada and then to the United States, settling in Boston in 1871 teaching the deaf, and eventually inventing, developing and revealing the telephone to the world at the Centennial Exhibition in Philadelphia in 1876.
