How do you write a metal song(s)?

Not a chance for that, plague_rider. For far too long I searched for metal musicians to play with.. almost all I found was trendy motherfuckers in desperate search of a quick lay and free booze, egos the size of cathedrals, weird ideas about fusing shit with metal, and little talent whatsoever (for music at least).
I have played with jazz musicians, and let me say that's a whole different story.

More on topic, fps were you being ironic about 'having better riffs in your genre than everyone else'? I'm hoping to get really good riffs working together. Average related riffs just doesn't cut it for me.
