How in the world do you achieve this effect?

Alright, so if you listen closely at like :23 the singers vocals like, fade in but with the first syllable that he sings repeatedly. How in the heck do you do that? It makes it sound really good.

i think that's easy..just pick the first 5 seconds of the song,reverse it an put it 2 sec back. put lots of reverb and make it -2db or -3db and thats all
i think that i've seen a tutorial on how to do this but i cant remember the name of the effect or the youtube link!

Record the fade-in (or a fade out and reverse it). Easy peasy.

As above. Obviously with the reverb and delay tail reversed

Once you have your reversed clip (with huge reverb + delay), you can use a curved fade in and TCE to reduce the size of the clip - giving the illusion of size in a shorted time period
