How is this Bathory cover?

Very cool mix man! Love the original and really dig your recording as well. Love the raw character of the guitars.

On my headphones I'm lacking a bit of low end (bass almost inaudible/kick has nice attack but no body) and when the wide group chants kick in the guitars get masked a lot. Probably an easy fix with some extra EQ.

But for the real Bathory feel you need more out of tune vocals and more distortion on your master bus! ;-)

I'm a huge Bathory fan .... this is awesome sounding dude!

The mix is killer for this ... however, I agree that the kick could use some more thump. Maybe a small bump at 60-65 or so and the bass could also use just a tiny bit more meat on it. As a matter of taste, maybe some more verb on the cleaner guitar phrases ... Bathory always had that "far away & epic" thing going on with shit like that

Great job man!

Thanks everyone.
I will try adding a bit more low end on the master.
That would be easier than a full mix recall because it was mixed on my Zed-r16.
If you download the song please don't share it outside this thread because it's a signed band and the track is for their label.
The guitarist in the band ruined this song for me by referring to the layered main melody as the "inspector gadget bit":tickled:

Sounds awesome to me. Great job on the vocals especially. The only thing I would have mentioned is the bass on the kick which has already been said.

Yes, I recognise those vocals! Great band. I know a smaller band who's contributing to that album, so it's nice to see these guys involved too. If all the covers sound as good as this one then it'll be well worth getting.
