i just don't understand the mentality of someone who has no compassion. it's so inherently not human. a weird duality type of thing.
gotta be some sort of psychological thing with society. some people just have no compassion or heart or pure wholesome emotion.
it just boils down to the fact that it's very hard to find good hearted people. towards other people, nature, animals, etc.

No compassion for animals that given the chance would stomp or maul you to death? You act as if we aren't animals ourselves... sorry to break the news to you. It's human instinct to kill and procreate. Should we leave the animals to roam around killing other animals just to admire their beauty, saving them for Noah's arc? That's almost as useless as mowing grass. Almost.
I'm not advocating trophy hunting (what a waste of resources), but I don't get where the love comes from. If you don't support trophy hunting, then I don't see how you could support any animal killing. One way or another, the animal will be used.
well i don't support animal killing of any kind, at least i try my best as much as i could not to. but looking at it from the logic upon which other animal killing is based off, trophy hunting is totally pointless. there is no usage of the animal for any sort of resource whatsoever.
also just because an animal would maul us to death doesn't mean you have no compassion for it. that is just retarded. seriously.
that's like saying someone with autism or severe mental problems can do something which on normal standards is deemed unacceptable but we can harm them because they would do the asme to us. or that's like saying a baby will do something because it is a baby and is not yet fully developed therefore it advocated child abuse.
humans are the superior race due to our gift of intelligence. animals do not possess such a high level of it and they are more "primal" in their behavior. therefore yes, if me and a lion were in the same area and the lion was hungry it would probably eat me. however that doesn't mean it gives me an excuse to harm it. animals do not possess malice or anything other than natural instinct. that is what separates us from the rest of the kingdom. civilization, power, and intelligence comes with a responsibility.
it is neither natural nor instinctual to kill an animal in their natural environment for no good reason, with a gun nonetheless.

well yeah lions kill hyenas just for power show and stuff so i get yeah yeah there are like warlike reasons and whatnot. you got me on that point.
but ok fine even if this is the case, it doesn't change anything. if anything, by saying that some animals will kill for something other than survival (even though technically killing hyenas is for their own security and survival since it is a "pre-emptive" strike) it still strengthens my argument. just because animals kill other animals and don't eat them means we can too??? lions also eat other lions, some dogs shit in the middle of the living room floor, my cat licks his own asshole clean, does that mean anyone does anything it makes it ok for someone or something else to do it also??

Harming babies and children is inhuman. Killing animals for fun is not inhuman. Usually it doesn't involve torture; torture is arguably inhuman.
It's a form of entertainment and sport, probably the oldest form of entertainment and sport. I'm not saying I enjoy it or would ever do it (although I imagine it's quite thrilling), but there are about an infinite number of pointless things that humans do. I think it's a far less evil than polluting our environment which in turns causes animals and humans to suffer for extended periods of time.
I do see where you are coming from that it is pointless, and I'd agree that it is pointless. But having compassion for wild animals is just strange, and a pointless thing to lose sleep over.
I purposely ran over a squirrel in my car today. And guess what? It was awesome. I was happy that worthless squirrel died by getting crushed under my tire.

lol. This doesn't make any sense. Sorry to break the news to you, but those people travel hundreds/thousands of kilometers to get somewhere so they can kill an animal for fun. This has absolutely NOTHING to do with "kill and procreate". It's plain stupid. It's not in our nature to kill for fun, not at all.. well, with some expections. But it isn't what keeps us alive for sure: there is no need to kill for fun in order to procreate.
The "one way or another, XYZ will happen" is not a valid argument in any discussion. ever. "If I don't rob the bank, someone else will" Yeah, right

If you have to go out with a manufactured firearm as opposed to a weapon you have fashioned to act as a knife to kill your food to survive for another day, then yes, there is no point and it should be illegal.

Animals only ever 'stomp or maul' someone to death for either a) protection/defence, or b) food. That's it. Those are the ONLY two driving forces. If it was for food? exactly what i was thinking, the only time i think i could condone putting an animals head above your mantle, is if it came at you and you killed it with your bare hands, going out of your way to where the animal lives with a firearm and shooting from a distance is bullshit, they need to man up, punch that bear in the face and see who comes out on top
