how much for a TS?

I picked up a Digitech Bad Monkey for like £22 , they all sound so similar and do such a similar job on front end that I think some of these prices are just crazy.
Its just collectable snobery vs utility .

The Delta Labs tube overdrive is also pretty cheap and is a TS-type pedal as well.

Same as the MXR Classic Overdrive, which is just a GT-OD/Wylde OD into a cheaper housing.

I like sd1 on marshalls or fender bassman, oranges...

But on modern amps like rectifier, 5150...it just sounds scratchy and harsh on the highs. It's not bad, but definitely harsh compared to the ts.

That said, I use the sd1 live, while for recording, I prefer a normal ts9.

P.S. engls are supposed to have a extra gain stage so the ts is not needed, or at least I've read that here.

i only find my engl a bit messy around the low end.. might be the passive pickups though..

btw, you signature got me angry lol! specially after spending 3000$ on a powerball ;)
