How much money a band receives

we've already had a guy from a management company give us some advice, but just to check, it is possible to merely get a publishing deal right?

It is, as far as i've heard, possible to get a publishing/ distro deal on its own, which is good if you can get a decent album recorded at a cheap rate, but that means you wont get a lables marketing, which could mean alot....

it realy depends on what kind of lable they are signed to, noraly if you by a album for 10-12 the band will get 1£ between them

That's for mechanical royalties - and that's taking into account that they'll actually get THAT money. Considering all the promotion and whatnot, they probably won't see a penny. The only people who WILL get paid (at least in the States because it's required by law that they get paid quarterly) are the songwriters.

Wow, that's really surprising to me that Shadows Fall, Cannibal Corpse, and Dimmu Borgir don't even make enough to live on alone.

apparently, lord worm makes enough money from cryptopsy to live off it now, and that was the original reason he left, because he didnt have a day job and couldnt make enough money just from the band
