there seems to be to much of that frequency around 100-200hz, if i scoop it out the guitars sound weak and weird....

whats wrong in my recording ? could it be my pre-amp ? cuz when i plug guitars direct to interface then to pod-farm i get the same frequency..
ive got a 2x12 recto cab and a 3ch dual recto head with 6l6's, micing with 1 sm57.
could it be my room ?
how can i fix it ?
Thanks guys!

EDIT : in a mix, thats the best sound i could get :(

any advice?

Have you tried using a multiband compressor instead of an EQ on the lower mids?

do you want this low gain sound? drums and bass sound for me ok, but the gts could use some more gain.

+1 needs more gain. It sounds quite muffled to me, might be mic placement if it sounds great in the room. I'd say add more top end but there is already plenty of scratch. Tried less mids on the amp?

Have you got a TS in the chain? Most people here would say it is an absolute must when using a DR, tightens it up, gives more definition etc.

I got a ts9dx set to ts9 mode and it sounds great in the room..
mids are quite low (8:30) bass is on 10:30 treble and presence is the same :( and im using the orange channel..
I always end up getting that scratching sound..even with my old amp !
What am i doing wrong ???

can have some more advice about whats causing that frequency to rise so much ? its getting on my nerves for a while now, just cant get it to go away :(
BAH.

I dont know the rectifier very well, but why do you scoop the sound? The mids are the main frequencies of the guitars, so keep them :)

Maybe you can post the DI's, so we could give it a shot?

Check the batteries in your pick ups, new strings..Why not modern red setting? More gain on preamp maybe. I have a Dual Rec. I use a Maxon 808 with gain on 9 0 clock, presence on about 11:30 and amp gain on about 1 o clock on modern, bold diodes. I angle the 57 into edge of cone with axis right on the cloth. Gets rid of fizz but you have opposite problem. Definitely muffled. Put everything to 12 o' clock and record there. If that sounds crap its somewhere else in your chain. Hope this helps.

sounds ok i think, but there is still that frequency there? is my interface giving a bad DI signal ?

always hard left hard right...
the mic position is near the cone and the amp is not very loud..

Thanks for your time man! :)
